The Woman Behind the Words

Nicki Dana

"I write the love stories I needed to read — the ones that don't flinch."

Nicki Dana is an erotic Black fiction author, poet, and storyteller whose work explores love, trauma, sensuality, healing, spirituality, and the complexity of human connection.

Writing for more than two decades, she blends emotionally rich storytelling with poetic prose — creating deeply intimate narratives that linger long after the final page. Her work moves between contemporary Black romance and erotic sci-fi, but its heart is always the same: women coming home to themselves.

She believes desire is a doorway, healing is a discipline, and softness is a kind of power. She writes from that conviction every time.

The Process

Written by candlelight. Slowly.

Most of these stories begin past midnight — with a playlist, a glass of something dark, and a question that won't let go. Nicki writes the way a love affair unfolds: in fragments, then in floods. She edits the way the morning edits the night — gently, but without mercy.

Whispers, slowly,
into your inbox.

New chapters, poetry fragments, playlists, and the kind of late-night thoughts that only arrive after midnight.
